The Sixth Sense

The Sixth Sense was made in 1999 and is a thriller featuring supernatural events. Bruce Willis who plays as Dr. Malcolm Crowe who is a child psychologist living with his wife Anna Crowe played by Olivia Williams. When returning home after being honored at an event for his efforts with children he is shot by one of his patients which he treated long ago. We later see Bruce Willis working with eight year-old Cole Sear played by Haley Joel Osment. We presume that Bruce Willis made a full recovery.

Cole claims that he can see dead people and although Crowe doesn't believe him at first he does eventually. He advises Cole to try and help the ghosts he sees and communicate with them.

At the end of the movie we see Crowe return home to find his wife asleep in front of the television. He notices his wife's and release his wedding ring and it tumbles to the floors. At that moment he also suddenly realizes that he has not been wearing the wedding ring at all. This is the unexpected twist where Crowe realizes that he actually died from the gunshot.

I found the movie interesting and full of suspense that works so well to build up to the moment where Cole sees ghosts and how he interacts with them. Although it can be a little slow a times, the movie keeps you interested and involved regardless. It is also interesting because the film keeps a very real state, there is a lack of special effects. It creates the feeling of what it would be like to actually see ghosts as we often hear stories of how some people have the gift to see and talk to ghosts and no doubt the director and writer wanted to catch that idea of what it would be like if everyone could do it.

Overall I found the film great and a must watch if your a fan of supernatural films.
