Suspense is created in 'The Shining' through a build of emotion and tension because we know that something is going to happen. The scene through the maze as Danny was running away from Jack saw a build up of emotion causing suspense as we didn't know if Jack was going to get Danny. There are many different times within the movie where suspense has been created, this makes it more interesting and keeps viewers attentions.
