Casino Royale

The title sequence i've chosen is from Casino Royale. It is done in a rather comic style with bold colours with the classic black and red colours seen on cards. One of the first names and words we see are the main actor's name which is Daniel Craig and the name of the film which is Casino Royale along with Albert R. Broccoli's EON Productions LTD. The titles are placed cleverly so that they do not obstruct the 'mini' story that the audience can see or where they can they incorporate the titles into the sequence itself for example like the 7 of hearts and two zeros being shot next to the seven making 007. There is a wide range of shots used from extreme long shots to close ups for example the extreme long shot of a character in black and white that we assume is James Bond and later our thoughts are confirmed that it is Daniel Craig as James Bond and close ups of a handgun shooting red hearts. I like this title sequence because it is quite tasteful in the way it is done with the use of the hearts, diamonds, spades and clubs as bullets and blood. It mixes together the stereotyped idea of guns, money and class which is ultimately what the audience sees alot of in Casino Royale.
